The project

AvixZ Gold is the group's gold project in Itaituba, Pará, on 84,000 hectares of its own land. The areas were acquired between 1994 and 1998 with the group's own resources and have been surveyed ever since by geological and geophysical campaigns run by the group's own team — three decades of continuous investment before any outside funding.

The operation follows the model the group applies on every front: development in phases, each completed before the next begins; an in-house processing plant, which treats the ore on site and keeps production under the group's control; and compliance from the field onward, with traceability of the gold produced.

The gold goes to the group's refinery in Santarém and from there is exported directly to world markets — the field-to-refinery integration that sets AvixZ apart. The group keeps investing in expansion and in new projects in the region.

Phases

The operation grows in three phases.

  1. Pilot plant and processing

    Under way

Mining in the active core and processing at the in-house plant, with local staff and suppliers.

  2. Expansion of the leaching plant

    Being structured

Increase in processing capacity, under technical and financial structuring. Details under NDA.

  3. Full scale

    Planned

Full-scale operation across the active core, with refining in Santarém and direct export.

How we operate

Four rules, since 1994.

  • Development in phases: each stage is completed and paid for before the next.
  • In-house processing: the ore is treated on site, with no dependence on third parties.
  • Traceable gold, from the field to the group's refinery in Santarém.
  • Technical data — grades, resources, licences, location — only after an NDA and compliance clearance.

Land use

The greater part of the 84,000 ha is set aside for conservation: a perpetual reserve forms the protective belt, a second area stays dormant over the long term, and mining is concentrated in an active core.

Responsibility

Progressive rehabilitation of mined areas, environmental controls, and priority for local labour and suppliers.

Where the gold goes

Output directed to the group's refinery in Santarém, for direct export. Under study: an industrial jewellery hub in Pará, exporting finished pieces instead of raw metal and strengthening the regional economy.

Technical data

Grades, resources, licences and exact location: only after an NDA and compliance clearance.
